Linux Compatibility

Working with Linux?

Matrix Orbital has got you covered. All of our display modules are compatible with Linux and Linux based platforms. In fact, if you are running kernel 2.6.26 or newer, your display will be automatically detected when connected.

Running an older kernel?

Fear not! If you're running a kernel older than 2.6.26, the necessary Linux Drivers are available for download. We have even created an easy to follow instruction guide to assist with installing the display drivers. Download Here

Sample Code?

We have an assortment of application notes available to help guide users developing on a Linux platform. Our examples demonstrate how to transmit data to and from the display and are great for showing the ropes to developers who are new to our products. In addition, we also have Linux compatible command libraries for our GTT and EVE series that give you full control of our displays. Written in C, these libraries can easily integrate into your code and can get you started in no time. Please visit our GitHub page for more information.

Available HDMI?

For those looking for a monitor or HDMI display interface for their Linux based single board computers, our HTT series is the perfect solution. Our HDMI displays can be paired with any Linux system, providing a simple and easy GUI. HTT touch panels will be recognized automatically, and be handled by the stock Linux touch drivers.
